This course is aimed at professionals wishing to commence a career as an equine sports massage therapist. The equine anatomy is covered in great detail and recognised massage and stretching techniques are learnt in order to equip the student with the skills to provide relief from muscular stress within the equine, increase the range of movement and improve the overall health and performance of the horse. The course provides a holistic view of the management of the horse, encouraging the student to consider all factors which may be contributing to muscular tension, including farriery, use of tack, feeding, dentistry and looks at discipline specific muscle groups. The course is delivered via a mixture of remote e-learning and practical days where the “hands-on” skills are covered, assessment is via practical assessment, written exam and case studies.
